Overview

This magazine design project is for a fictitious beauty magazine company called 'Slowis'. This project included a cover page design, and a landing page and banner ad design. The concept for the month I was designing a cover for was 'Slow Beauty', which is a new beauty trend: the less, the more beautiful.

As with all my design projects, I start would with thumbnail sketches, and roughs for each of the things I was to design.

Magazine Cover Design

For the magazine covers, I intentionally wanted to go for a busier look as magazine covers tend to have a lot of information in order to catch people's eye. I used 4 different fonts, including the magazine brand name. I mostly used a white font colour, as well as a lighter blue colour. Because the background image has mainly light pink, the pink and blue applied an analogous colour scheme to the cover design, and gave it a light and clean look.
